The Ai Salon Archive
AI is poised to be the most transformative technology humanity has ever created. It will impact us all and yet today, meaningful dialogue about AI remains concentrated in a handful of tech hubs, and is often centered around building AI – rather than examining its societal impacts.
We founded The Ai Salon in San Francisco in 2023 to change this. The Ai Salon has now expanded across the globe, bringing meaningful AI conversation to six cities, three continents and over 1000 people all passionate about shaping our collective AI future.
The Ai Salon Archive (this Substack) is our way of continuing the conversation even after a salon ends – of extending in-person insights to our online community for digital discussion. Thank you for being here!
What we do
Conversations on the meaning and impact of AI: We host salons in a few different formats – intimate, single-threaded conversations of 10-20 people, expert series with industry leaders, and larger symposia of 100+ people. Our events bring together technologists, policymakers, academia, artists, scientists, and civil society on a range of topics. Past themes include:
Community building: We believe in the power of community in the age of AI automation. We not only build in-person communities within chapters, but facilitate global connection amongst all of our members.
Democratizing access to and participation in AI: We strive to extend our conversations beyond our in-person events by sharing the syntheses of our discussions on this Substack, as well as working with other organizations on projects that promote participatory development of AI.
